Central control system for the metro line 9 of Barcelona |
DescriptionLine 9 will be, when all its 52 stations come into service, the longest line in the Barcelona Metro network. In addition to the structural characteristics that make it unique in the world, the line also incorporates systems based on the latest technology to ensure its safe and efficient operation. Emte Sistemas, part of the COMSA EMTE Group, among other contributions to the project, has completed the design, development, installation and commissioning of the centralized control system.
The System includes supervision and control of the following subsystems:
Each of the control systems has its native application based on esTRAUSS. But the Emte Sistemas platform goes further, and provides a Integration Suite which facilitates the unified operation of all systems for optimal performance. In esTRAUSS-suite, as well as the aforementioned subsystems, the following are also integrated through TIBCO messaging:
The EsTRAUSS hardware architecture for the L9 is organized around a pair of servers for each control system, arranged in a configuration that ensures operation in redundancy (hot-stand by). This hardware configuration has been chosen to provide maximum security, distributed over two physical sites: the main servers operating in the Central Control Station, and the secondary ones in the Emergency Control Room. The Operator stations have the following profiles:
This configuration of operating positions is the same for the PCC and the PCE, although in the latter there is only one of each station. As regards integration, all Operator Stations are interchangeable, so that if necessary, they can be reconfigured and a different profile assigned online. If communications between the stations and the Central Control Room are lost, a Local Control Station (PCLIF) is available at each station as a contingency measure, which provides the following integration features:
